Synopsis

My childhood yard may appear like another shabby parking space in a Jerusalem ultra-orthodox neighborhood. To me, it is the landscape of the only home I have ever known. The heroes of my yard are: my wife, Re’ut, who hate the yard and feel persecuted by the ultraorthodox ; forty-four-year old Daniel, the first ultra-orthodox magician, who dreams of leaving the yard to Paris, and Yisrael, an ultra-orthodox boy, torn between the outside world and the unwritten laws of the society he inhabits. The Yard is a film about people feel like strangers in their own homes.
