And Their Collaborators
Synopsis
This landmark project unearths the hidden and complex history of Jewish Kapos and Nazi collaborators who faced justice after the Holocaust. While they were victims of the camps themselves, many were forced to perform the Nazis’ brutal work, leaving survivors to grapple with deep moral and emotional wounds.
Drawing on newly discovered court protocols, testimony, and the groundbreaking 1950 Israeli law used to prosecute them, a largely forgotten chapter of history is exposed. By exploring both trials in Israel and independent tribunals in Displaced Persons camps, this account examines universal questions of justice, morality, and how communities reckon with betrayal in the aftermath of tragedy.
