Dear Mom
Synopsis
On October 7th, Yael Keidar (43), who lives with a mild intellectual disability, survived the Be’eri massacre while her father was murdered and her mother, Ofra (70), was kidnapped to Gaza. Alone, Yael hid for hours in the safe room as her house burned, until soldiers rescued her.
Now relocated to an assisted living facility in Dimona, she struggles with trauma, loss, and sudden independence. Between waiting for her mother’s return and rebuilding her life, Yael learns to rely on her brothers as substitute caregivers. The film follows her journey of resilience as she seeks to survive the everyday.
