Amal
Synopsis
Co-directed by Arab and Jewish filmmakers and inspired by true events, Amal (Hope) follows a determined mother seeking to rescue her son, Samer, from a violent destiny. When Samer becomes involved in a village shooting, Amal acknowledges that unless the warring clans are stopped, her son will become the next victim. She fights with all her might for a “Sulha” (reconciliation) to halt the cycle of violence. But as overpowering chaos sweeps through the community, powerful forces tear the village apart, leaving Amal entangled in the very bloodshed she desperately fought to prevent.
