A Place of Her Own
Synopsis
In Jisr az-Zarqa, an impoverished Arab village, women find hope in a surprising opportunity to build a long-desired community center. Through the eyes of Amina, Munira, and Rawia, and their weekly women’s circle, we learn of their struggles and aspirations. Amina dreams of a women’s donation center, Munira of an art space for youth, and Rawia of a better future for her village. As violence shakes the village and a luxury neighborhood threatens their land, their hope for change, and the future of their center, is tested, forcing them to confront oppression as they fight for a place of their own.
