Reviews

  • The concept of a teacher guiding delinquent teenagers isn’t a premise unknown to film, and yet Doubtful, the feature debut by Eliran Elya, makes it feel as if it is.
    Film Inquiry (June 15, 2018)
  • Doubtful proves to be an intelligent, intimate, and potent first feature.
    Film Inquiry (June 15, 2018)
  • Dramatically powerful and thematically challenging, this is a remarkably impressive feature début.
    Jennie Kermode, Eye for Film
  • A vivid look at a blackboard jungle, Israel style, based on a true story about juvenile delinquents who are influenced by a teacher who is himself an emotional wreck.
Harvey S. Karten, Big Apple Reviews
  • Director-writer Eliran Elya's feature début is a very dark tale about tale two men struggling to stay afloat in a world which, seemingly, wants to drown them both.
